Very Peri’s influence on Spring 2022 Beauty Trends

Very Peri | Cosmetology Hair Colors

Purple, specifically Very Peri, is Pantone’s color of the year for 2022. The Pantone color of the year always makes some kind of impact on beauty products and this Spring we will see a heavy influence. From hair color, eyeliner, eyeshadow and lip color, this color will be seen all throughout the beauty industry and in a wide range of hues. The color represents “a carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit” and a “rekindling gratitude for some of the qualities that blue represents complemented by a new perspective that resonates today.” We love the meaning behind this color and with recent times we know many can take this to heart.

“Sitting in a cafe the other day, I noticed at least 3 women with different shades of purple hair. I’m loving how much this color is spreading in beauty salons. Good job Pantone!” – Jane Londeree, Charlotte NC, UX Designer

Whether you choose to highlight your hair purple or dye it all over, Very Peri hair and it’s various hues will be in style this year. We are also seeing it used heavily in balayage styles ranging from the lightest blondes to the darkest black and also combining it with other fantasy colors. One of the truly great things about the shade purple in hair is that it can go with almost any person’s skin tone making it a practical choice for a fantasy hair shade.

If you are looking to match the very Peri shade to a tee we have found the perfect polish choice by ORLY which matches the shade and also adds a bit of glitter representing the future.

If you are looking for a more economical option and one that you can find at Ulta, we have found the shade “Show Us Your Tips” by OPI.

Purple in general is not unfamiliar in the beauty industry for eye and lip make-up applications but this Spring we will see purple eyeshadow, eyeliner, lip color and mascara. The monochromatic look is still in bloom all throughout the design and fashion industry so we will be seeing some models on the runway sporting a full purple look. If you are hoping to use purple only on your eyes or lips, you might consider downplaying the other features on your face with neutrals to allow the purple to stand out. Another option would be to use other similar jewel tones, think aquamarine and ruby red, for more of a bold evening look.

If you are wondering what other colors to pair Very Peri with when making beauty decisions, we recommend going with colors that have a similar vibe to play off of each other or just using a neutral. Using a neutral like tans, grays or blacks will allow the purple shade to stand out by itself.
