David Pressley School of Cosmetology started in 1959. For over 50 years, we’ve made it our mission to provide a beauty education to students to help prepare them for careers as professional cosmetologists and estheticians.
If you’ve been dreaming about a career in beauty, we want to meet you! With two convenient campus locations and a schedule that can fit around you, we can help you prepare to sit for the State Board licensing exam and become a professional in the beauty industry. Whether you want to be a hairstylist, makeup artist, work in a spa, or own your own salon, the path to those dreams can start here. Learn more about our admissions and enrollment process and start the process today!
We encourage all prospective students to book a tour of our Royal Oak or Taylor campus before starting enrollment. It’s a great way to learn more about our school and determine if it’s the right place for your beauty journey. During a tour, a member of our enrollment team will guide you through the facility, showing you our classrooms and state-of-the-art salon environment where students work on real clients under the supervision of licensed instructors. You’ll have a chance to meet faculty and current students while seeing our hands-on learning experiences in action. You’ll also be able to ask questions and learn more about our programs. We’d love to show you around! Book your campus tour today, and let’s start your beauty journey.
Our Michigan beauty school campuses offer training in cosmetology and cosmetology instruction. Our Royal Oak campus also provides training for estheticians and esthetics instruction. All of our courses are designed to provide aspiring beauty professionals with both the practical training and real-world experience they need to pursue licensure and their dream careers.
It depends on the course you take and which schedule you opt for. However, esthetics students can complete their training in as little as 20 weeks, and cosmetology students can finish in as little as a year. Our flexible scheduling options make it easy to fit your education with other commitments, but they may impact your completion date. Talk to our enrollment team to learn more about your scheduling options and when you might expect to complete your training.
Yes, financial aid is available to those who qualify. As an accredited school, students can apply for federal student loans and grants to help cover the cost of their tuition. We also offer payment plans that could make your education more affordable. Our tuition rates are very competitive, too, so students can get the best value for their money. Talk to an enrollment advisor to learn more about financial options.
You must be 17 years old to enroll in our courses. You’ll also need to provide a high school diploma, or GED, along with a state-issued ID and social security card. Some of our courses may have other requirements, so speak to an enrollment advisor to learn more.
