TOUR THE CAMPUS

Set up a tour of the campus and the hair school before applying to beauty hair school. You’ll also get the opportunity to observe classes to see if this program is of interest to you. Ask the instructors questions and take note of anything you might want more information on as you tour schools. MAKE SURE YOU ARE QUALIFIED

The state of Michigan requires a high school diploma and for you to be at least 17 years old to attend beauty hair school. We’ll need proof of a GED, social security card and a drivers license to confirm age.

This is also beneficial if you choose to have clients in the home or when traveling to remote locations for work.

CONTINUING EDUCATION & TEACHING

Becoming a hairstylist allows for continuing education in that you constantly need to be learning to stay up to date on trends and the newest technologies. There are several ways to do this whether through specific hair stylist courses, workshops, online events and/or pursuing outside of hair styling. Many hair stylists go on to expand their knowlege about other cosmetology routes such as esthetics, nails, make-up and fashion. Lastly, many seasoned hair stylists go on to teaching hair courses themselves offering another career option within the industry.
